Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leaders (BCYL), established in 2003, is a dynamic organization dedicated to empowering youth in Bridgeport, Connecticut. BCYL offers a range of programs focused on sports, education, and civic engagement, aiming to foster character development and self-esteem among participants. Over the years, the organization has served over 10,000 youth, with more than 1,700 participants in 2022 alone. Their scholarship program has awarded $1.2 million in tuition assistance since 2009, leading to 26 graduates, 17 of whom are first-generation college graduates. BCYL also emphasizes community involvement through initiatives like annual food and toy drives, neighborhood cleanups, and voter registration drives, all designed to instill values of generosity and civic responsibility.
