Eastern celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a variety of programs and events across campus. From lectures and art exhibitions to film screenings and networking, students and faculty alike can find ways to connect with and learn about Hispanic culture, history and language. Check out the calendar of events below.
The World Languages and Cultures Department was instrumental in bringing several opportunities to the campus-wide celebration.
- Mesa de Español – Every Thursday, 3:30 -4:30 pm, Webb 223B. A weekly Spanish conversation table. Open to all Spanish speakers or Spanish language learners. Empanadas, snacks and drinks provided.
- Explora Español – Monday, September 30, 3:00-4:00 pm, Webb 223B. An opportunity for Spanish speakers and heritage language learners to engage with the World Languages and Cultures Department about educational and career opportunities. Snacks provided.
- Mini Hispanic Film Festival – in partnership with the Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS), the World Languages and Cultures Department hosts three screenings of Spanish-language films. Popcorn and snacks & candies from across Latin America provided.
