Student Government Association

Have a comment, suggestion, or student issue for Student Government Association? We want to hear from you! Fill out an online survey and help make our campus even stronger.

SGA meetings are always open to all students who wish to attend.

The Student Government Association (SGA) provides students with the opportunity to develop skills in democratic procedures. A representative form of government, students are elected to act as the governing body for student concerns. Members work at meeting the social, economic, and curricular needs of all Eastern students, and they also serve in deliberations with the faculty and administration of Eastern. The budget of SGA is generated from the student activity fee paid by every student.

The SGA comprises many segments of the student population and is constituency based. Representatives are elected in the spring and fall semesters by the entire student body of Eastern Connecticut State University. The General Board and Executive Board act as advisory bodies in the management of the SGA. Each student senator holds office hours in the SGA Suite and serves on one internal and one external committee.

You can visit SGA in their office/suite located on the lower level of the Student Center. SGA holds meetings every Monday at 3:00 PM and can be reached by calling 860-465-0123
