Eastern students enjoy a broad range of on-campus experiences designed to promote academic, social, and personal development. Student Activities staff work with other offices in the Division of Student Affairs, as well as faculty and housing staff, to provide an integrated student life program.
Eastern Connecticut State University’s Intercultural Center (IC) hosted its annual Black History Month kick-off event on Feb. 3. The event featured students from various backgrounds coming together to celebrate Black empowerment through social interaction, games and food.
Eastern’s Student Center welcomed more than 200 students on Jan. 29 as the Office of Student Activities and the Arthur L. Johnson Unity Wing hosted their semesterly club fair and open house. The events featured 45 student organizations as well as the Unity Wing's three centers, displaying Eastern’s diverse offerings of extracurricular/academic clubs, community service organizations, and cultural havens.
The 14th annual Olga Ezis Plunge for Hunger took place Feb. 1 at 12 p.m. at Lauter Park in Willimantic. Hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University’s men’s rugby team, the event benefits the Covenant Soup Kitchen through donations while members of the Willimantic community jump into the freezing Natchaug River.
