Some courses require approval of either the instructor, the department chairperson, or both (Excluding Internship, Practicum, and Independent Study courses, which is completed with a different process)
When students register for courses using eWeb, the computer system will check to if that consent is on file in the system. If the consent is not on file they will not be able to sign up for the course and will get an error message.
The written consent required, if any, for all courses can be found under the course descriptions in the eWeb schedule by clicking the CRN and then “View Catalog Entry” or just by clicking the course number in your Degree Works audit.
Students may request written consent from the instructor and or department chairperson using their Eastern email and sending the following information to the appropriate person and asking for their consent:
Name, ID Number
CRN, Subject, Course, Section, Title
Please forward your approval to the next person that needs to approve or registrar@easternct.edu
The Registrar’s Office will process your request and respond via Eastern email to you and the other concerned parties once processed. Please note, if you have a hold on your account your registration will not be able to be processed.
If for some reason you are unable to access your Eastern email account, you may fill out the Registration Approvals – Courses Requiring Written Consent Form. Complete this form snd obtain any required signatures. Once completed, submit to the Registrar's Office.
Internships, Practicum, Teaching Assistantships, and Independent Study
Some courses required approval instructor, department chairperson, and Dean such as Internships, Practicums, Teaching Assistantships, Individual Music Instruction, and Independent Studies. Students are not able to use eWeb to complete these registrations and they will get an error message if attempted.
Students may register for these courses by completing the Independent Study/Internship/Practicum/Teaching Assistantship form online and email it to the Supervising Faculty Member. It will need to then be approved by the Supervising Faculty Member, Department Chairperson, and the appropriate Dean.
Once all approvals are obtained, the form will be sent to the Registrar's Office for review and registration.
*Note: if you have a hold that prevents registration, your registration will not be processed until the hold is resolved.
