Music Composition at Eastern

Students enrolled in composition write and present original music during lessons and master classes. Students may also learn about the analysis of existing literature, instrumental techniques, computer programs, and other advanced compositional issues.

Student compositions have been featured on reading sessions with guest artists, and many compositions have performed on recitals at Eastern. Selected compositions may be presented as part of the "New Music at Eastern" concert.

Note:  Students who are taking composition lessons are required to take individual instruction in an instrument or voice.  It is strongly suggested that the student take these lessons in piano.
