Advancement Jury Guidelines (every semester)

  • Students are recommended to take an advancement jury for MUS 456 in the spring semester of the student’s sophomore year.
  • Advancement juries will be scheduled in 12-minute time slots to allow for additional repertoire to be performed.
  • Advancement juries will be attended by full-time faculty, the student’s instructor, and other adjuncts as their schedule permits.
  • Requirements for advancement to MUS 456 shall be set by individual private lesson studios.
  • A student who does not pass the advancement jury will be allowed to attempt it again.
