Hansel and Gretel

April 1-3, 2022

Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel is a treat for all ages! Based on the Grimm Brothers' classic fairytale, the opera follows brother and sister, Hansel and Gretel, as they navigate the wonders and dangers of an enchanted forest. While gathering strawberries for supper, the children get distracted and find themselves lost in the woods as darkness surrounds them. With no chance of finding their way home, the children must spend the night alone in the woods. When they wake the next morning, they discover a magical house made of sweets and candy. Their curiosity (and their hungry tummies) gets the best of them, and they soon find themselves trapped in the spell of a nasty Witch. It will take all their wit and bravery to outsmart the Witch before they are baked into gingerbread!

Music by Engelbert Humperdinck
