The Student Health Service is open to all students: full time, part time and graduate. Both resident and commuter students are welcome.
You DO NOT need to be covered by health insurance to be seen in our office.
You DO need insurance if your situation requires additional medical evaluation off campus such as blood tests or x-rays.
To be prepared: You should have your current health insurance information with you here at school (name of company, name of the policy holder, ID#, Group # if there is one, and insurance company's address).
There is no charge for visits with the physician, nurse practitioners, or nurse.
We do charge fees for medications, injections, some diagnostic testing, and women's gynecological exams.
We have some types of birth control available at a very reasonable cost - See Below
We do not bill insurance companies directly for any of our services.
When you are admitted to E.C.S.U. you are automatically placed under Aetna Accident Policy. This Accident Policy Insurance will show up as your Primary Insurance everywhere you go, like your Doctor's office, a laboratory, a Specialists office Etc.
When this happens, Aetna Accident Policy will DENY the payment and you will get a bill from the office that provided the service and a letter stating Aetna DENIED payment.
You need to call the location of that medical service and notify them of your "real" insurance coverage that you normally use.
