OAS Testing Center Operations

Faculty and Student Information

The Office of AccessAbility Services (OAS) provides testing rooms for students who have an approved accommodation for extended time on timed tests / timed quizzes. Students must initiate all exam/quiz bookings at least one week (or 5 business days) in advance. Utilizing the OAS Testing Center requires proactive communication and planning between all threee parties (student, faculty, and OAS) and is initiated by the student for each exam / quiz throughout the semester.

All exam booking requests and coordination are facilitated through the Accommodate portal.

OAS Testing Center business office hours are Mon. - Fri. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please note: The OAS is unable to guarantee exam booking requests with less than 5 days notice.

OAS Testing Blocks

The OAS Testing Center offers 3 daily testing blocks on Mondays through Fridays for students who are registered and have an approved testing accommodation.

OAS testing block times: 8:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 2:00 p.m.

During finals the first testing block begins at 8:00 a.m.

Protocols and Procedures

The Office of AccessAbility takes exams and quizzes very seriously. We strive to simulate the testing experience students would otherwise have in their classroom. As such, we have an involved process to maximize coordination with faculty to ensure successful facilitation of exams and quizzes for our students. The OAS also strives to provide a smooth testing experience for students. All three parties (students, faculty, and OAS) have an important role in facilitating the exam booking and testing process. Proactive communication and planning are key for a stress-free experience for all parties!

All students who have an approved accommodation for extended time for timed tests and timed quizzes need to sign a Testing Agreement form in the Accommodate portal upon registering with the OAS. Terms of the Testing Agreement are not limited to but include the following:

  • Students are responsible to initiate the coordination of exam times and dates before submitting an exam booking request.
  • Students are not allowed to have any personal items, including cell phones or any other electronic devices in the testing room.
  • Students who arrive late rescind that time. Faculty are notified of late arrivals.
  • OAS Testing Center proctors are not allowed to answer any exam/quiz content related clarifying questions.
  • OAS Testing Center proctors are obligated to report any suspicious activity. Faculty are notified of any suspicious activity.

Note: Students who register with the OAS need to sign all appropriate agreements before being able to submit a semester request to activate approved accommodations, such as Extended Time for timed exams and timed quizzes.
