Research Interests

Avian Conservation Genetics

The focus of my research is the conservation of threatened and endangered tern species. As a conservation geneticist I employ molecular techniques to address ecological and behavioral questions pertinent to the conservation of Roseate Terns (Sterna dougallii), Common Terns (Sterna hirundo), Aleutian Terns (Onychoprion aleuticus), Black Terns (Chlidonias niger), Whiskered Terns (Chlidonias hybrida), and Least Terns (Sternulla antillarum) and Black Skimmers (Rynchops niger).

The most important aspect of my research is the involvement of undergraduate students.  If you are a student at Eastern interested in this opportunity, please contact me!
