Students majoring in Environmental Earth Science (BS) acquire an understanding of the geologic framework of the earth and energy science issues. Students take a common set of core classes and choose one of three concentrations: Environmental Earth Science, General Earth Science, Sustainable Energy Science.
Energy Science Concentration: The energy science track prepares students to work in the energy field or pursue graduate studies in energy science or policy. The first students in this new concentration graduated in May 2010. Current graduates are pursuing graduate degrees or are working for energy consulting firms, utilities, and state agencies. In addition to core geoscience classes, this conecentration includes energy science courses that examine conventional and renewable energy sources and applications.
