Requests for Quotations (RFQ)

An RFQ may be utilized for the acquisition of goods or services that are readily comparable (e.g., a machine part which is obtainable from multiple suppliers) and for which cost is the only determinative criterion. The purpose of an RFQ is to enable the agency to obtain the required goods or services from the lowest qualified bidder.
