2/21/18: The CECE celebrated our YouTube achievement with the Child and Family Development Resource Center. In advance of the event, teachers discussed the concept of large numbers with children, and each child made predictions about how many dots were on his or her sheet of paper. Children then hung their sheets of paper around the room. The dots on all the sheets of paper totaled one million dots.
2017 TIMPANI Press Conference (2:19) 12/6/17: Each year the CECE announces the results of the ongoing TIMPANI Toy Study in a press conference. This video gives a sneak peek into the 2017 press conference, including interviews with student and faculty researchers, setting up the event, and the reveal of the highest-scoring toy.
5/5/17: The 2016 – 2017 academic year marked the ten-year anniversary of the Center for Early Childhood Education. We wanted to thank all of our partners over the past ten years who have made our work possible – by serving as research partners and subjects, by allowing us to bring video cameras into their programs and homes, by providing their expertise as content reviewers and/or appearing in our videos, and by providing the funding and/or institutional support to make the work possible. We also are grateful to the many early childhood professionals, teacher educators, state and provincial officials, and policymakers who have used and shared our research and videos. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you.
