The Anita N. Jean Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in October 2015 by Anita’s brother, Paul Jean, and his wife, Anne Jean, three years after Anita’s death. Anita worked for over two decades as an accountant at Eastern and was a key volunteer in the athletic department. In 2007, Nita was the recipient of the Michael A. Atkind Service Award presented to her by the Hall of Fame Committee of ECSU for her exceptional service and loyalty to the intercollegiate athletic program. Nita’s deepest love was for her family. This scholarship will be awarded to an in-state student(s) in good academic standing with financial need. The recipient(s) must be involved in extra-curricular activities on campus.
