An Eastern Connecticut State University professor and his student research assistant recently shared their ongoing research on behavior analysis at a Massachusetts conference. Christopher Krebs, assistant professor of psychological science, and student J.T. Piro presented their peer-reviewed poster at the Berkshire Association for Behavior Analysis and Therapy (BABAT) in Worcester, MA, on Oct. 12.
Krebs and Piro’s research examines “how variability, mean shift and slope influence judgments of experimental control for changing-criterion experimental designs,” said Krebs. Experimental control relates to how the independent variable in a given experiment can be held responsible for changes in the dependent variable.
“We hope our findings can be used to help improve training in behavior analysis,” said Krebs.
Krebs and Piro have worked together for several semesters. Though they were excited to present at BABAT, their work on this project is not finished. They aim to complete data analysis during winter break and submit their manuscript to be published in spring 2024.
