Chatterton exposes business students to sports industry throughout fall 2022

Over the course of the fall 2022 semester at Eastern, Professor Charlie Chatterton has organized several events for his classes in the business administration department that have entertained his students and given them hands-on learning experience in the sports industry.

On Oct. 20, Chatterton and students in BUS 340 visited the University of Connecticut, where Jamie Moran, assistant director of athletic events and facilities, gave them a tour of the school’s athletic facilities. Moran also provided insight and expertise as to how the facilities operate.

Five days later, the class visited the XL Center in Hartford, and Chatterton’s BUS 490 class took part in an event called the Etiquette Breakfast.

On Nov. 1, Chatterton hosted Milton Jackson ‘05 as a guest speaker in his BUS 490 class. Jackson is an experience design executive at Bank of America and a member of the Dean’s Business Advisory Council.

Recently, the Business Division hosted a networking event in which students, professors and their families attended a Hartford Wolf Pack professional hockey game.

On Dec. 7, Chatterton hosted guest speakers Cami Makula and Nate Lynch for a virtual discussion with his BUS 343 class. Both are Eastern graduates and are employed by professional hockey organizations.
