Historian Tom Balcerski appears in ‘The Book of Queer’

BalcerskiThomas Balcerski, professor of history at Eastern Connecticut State University, appeared in the first episode of the Discovery+ mini-series “The Book of Queer,” premiering throughout June for Pride Month. An expert on presidential history, Balcerski is interviewed about President Abraham Lincoln in the episode. 

With five episodes airing weekly throughout the month of June, “The Book of Queer” is a comedic documentary series guest starring such actors as Dominique Jackson, Alex Newell, Leslie Jordan and Ross Mathews. 

Balcerski has previously garnered media attention for his book “Bosom Friends: The Intimate World of James Buchanan and William Rufus King.” Speaking to this latest project with “The Book of Queer,” he said, “I am proud to have contributed to this effort to reveal the many hidden figures of LGTBQIA+ history.”
