Biography

Emily Riggs, soprano, earned a DMA in Voice Performance from the University of Maryland and an MM in Vocal Performance/Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College. Active as a soloist, Riggs has collaborated with the Grammy Award-winning ensemble, Eighth Blackbird, and the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, and received praise from the New York Times for her 2012 performance with the Brooklyn Art Song Society. Riggs is a founding member of the trio, Ensamble Arte, and studies with Marvin Keenze (Philadelphia, PA).

Of Note

Dr. Riggs is a recipient of the National Associate of Teachers of Singing’s Emerging Leaders Award. She is president of the Connecticut Chapter of NATS and is active as an adjudicator and masterclass clinician.
