Ari de Wilde is a trained sport historian and Associate Professor of Sport & Leisure Management at Eastern Connecticut State University. His main research interests are in the business history of sport and the North American bicycle racing industry. He received his BA in History with a minor in Economics from Bates College in 2005, his MA in 2007 and Ph.D. in Sport Humanities/Management from The Ohio State University in 2010. His articles have appeared in the Journal of Macromarketing Journal of Sport History, Journal of Historical Research in Marketing, Quest, and International Journal of Sport Management.
