The CECE has been awarded its 9th Telly Award! The video "Supporting Music Development in Early Childhood Settings" has been awarded a Bronze award in the category of General – Education & Training. The video is one of a series of three videos on music and movement in early childhood created by Julia DeLapp and Ken Measimer in Spring 2023.
In this video, Matthew Vizzo, a professional musician and preschool teacher at CFDRC, demonstrates and explains how he engages young children in developing their musical competencies. Julia DeLapp, Terry Surprenant, and Kaitlin Thibedeau '16 share strategies for classroom teachers to nurture music development in the early years.
The video features footage of several of our CFDRC preschool teachers immersing children in musical compositions, performances, and explorations. Special congratulations go to the CECE production team for their work on this video. Ken Measimer and Sean Leser served as videographers and editors with Julia DeLapp as scriptwriter and producer. A recent communications student, Lauren Christie ’23, co-edited the video.
