Sudha Swaminathan

Dr. Swaminathan is the Director of the CECE. She is Distinguished Professor of Education with research interests in early childhood math, science, and technology.

Julia DeLapp

Julia served as Director of the CECE from its founding in 2006 through June 2023. She was also producer of CECE videos and co-PI of many studies. She currently serves on CECE's Advisory Council.

Jeffrey Trawick-Smith

Dr. Trawick-Smith is Professor Emeritus, former Phyllis Waite Endowed Chair in Early Childhood Education, Distinguished Professor, & CSU Professor. He has conducted multiple research studies on children's play, dual language learners, math-play, and teacher-child interactions. He currently serves on CECE's Advisory Council.

Theresa Bouley

Dr. Bouley is a Professor of Education and ECE Literacy Specialist with research interests in social justice, anti-racism, and microaggressions.

Kwangwon Lee

Dr. Lee is an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Special Education. He conducts research on young children with autism.

Darren Robert

Dr. Robert is a Professor of Kinesiology and Physical Education.

Ken Measimer

Ken is a Media Production Specialist. He supervises video production interns and directs CECE videos.

Juliana Fabrizi

Juliana is a Graduate Research Assistant majoring in Secondary English.

CECE Students

Every year, the CECE team includes several students who engage in meaningful research or pre-professional experiences. Each year, one student is awarded the Jeffrey and Nancy Trawick-Smith Early Childhood Undergraduate Research Award to support their research in the CECE.
