Lydia Viscardi is a representational mixed media artist whose exhibition venues include Rick Wester Fine Art, ODETTA Gallery (represented by ODETTA/1stdbs.com), AHA Fine Art, The Drawing Center, Walter Wickiser Gallery, Sideshow Gallery, Active Space, Brooklyn Fireproof, Concepto Hudson, and The Heckscher Museum of Art in New York; Center for Visual Arts, William Paterson University’s Power Art Center, Victory Hall Drawing Rooms, and Ramapo College Kresge and Pascal Galleries in New Jersey;, Real Art Ways, Five Points Gallery, Housatonic Museum of Art, The Barnum Museum, Ely Center for Contemporary Art, Artspace, Manchester Community College’s Hans Weiss Newspace Gallery, the University of Bridgeport’s Schelfhaudt Gallery and Eastern Connecticut State University’s Art Gallery in Connecticut; Utah Art Alliance, Salt Lake City, UT.

Viscardi’s work is in many private collections in the United States and in The Copelouzos Art Museum in Athens, Greece. She had solo shows in 2021, Then the Morning Comes at Real Art Ways, Hartford, CT and in 2020, Here and Hereafter at Five Points Gallery, Torrington, CT. Recent group shows include several exhibitions at AHA Fine Art, Brooklyn, NY and a summer show at Rick Wester Fine Art, NYC. Upcoming shows include Sub-Urban, a four-person show at Eastern CT State University’s Art Gallery and a solo show at Rick Wester Fine Art.

Viscardi earned an MFA in Visual Art from William Paterson University of NJ and received a BFA from CW Post College of LI University, after studying at Ithaca College, NY and the Toledo Museum of Art School of Design, OH.  Employment history includes gallery director and curator, museum education, scenic art (sculpting and painting for theater, film, and television), decorative painting, interior design, store planning, and display, advertising, and editorial/book illustration. Until recently, Viscardi was a Professor of Studio Art at Quinnipiac University and Housatonic Community College, CT. All of this informs her fine art creative life at her Newtown, CT studio.
