“Here’s a thank you to everyone doing their best in this time: Thank you for committing to safety. Thank you for reflecting, reorienting and reconsidering. Thank you for opportunities arising from the ash and the growth that accompanies them. It’s important not to forget to stay — stay curious, stay strong and stay in. Stay out of risk, out of trouble and stay home- stay for the people staying in the hospitals, the people caring for those staying in the hospitals.
Above all stay cool, for you and the people staying cool around you. In times like this there is loss, but we can be thankful for what we get to keep. We can lose or keep our heads, lose or keep our jobs, lose or keep our lives even; it’s not fair that we don’t get to choose. But let’s keep the energy going. Let’s keep trying our best. Let’s keep learning and being there for each other. Let’s keep our communication channels open and let’s keep in touch. Keep me at a distance and I will keep you in my thoughts.
All we have for certain right now is time, and it seems to be moving very slowly. It’s the slowest in moments of tragedy or anxiety, every second seems to last forever. But be assured, the clock is moving — maybe not when you watch it so intently. Give it some distance and it’ll carry on like its normal. You just have to mind your business and give it that space.”
