"Finding Spirituality in Equilibrium"

Finding Spirituality in Equilibrium | 40"x50" | Mixed Media(Acrylic, Collage, Incense, Fabric on Wood Panel)

This painting breaks down the definition of the post-genocide spirituality of the Cambodian diaspora, in particular, Cambodian American dancers. It is a surreal space that focuses on Sampeah Kru, a ceremony that pays homage to kru, spirits, and teachers; Here, I and other dancers can imagine themselves honoring kru, a spirit/teacher with ritual objects and offerings of food, and reflect upon our spiritual relationship.
