About Our Policies

There are several policies that govern students' eligibility for financial aid, sharing information during the financial aid process, refunds of financial aid to students and refunds of payments and/or return of aid funds when a student withdraws from college. These policies are outlined below in detail and it is critical that students be aware of these policies so as to avoid problems or misunderstanding while using financial aid.

There are several factors that can change the amount of your Financial Aid offer. They include but are not limited to:

  • Number of credits registered for each semester
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress (refer to the link below for details)
  • Verification Process (checking FAFSA accuracy via our partner, Inceptia)
  • Changes in the amount of money from a financial aid source, i.e. the University, federal or state governments
  • Inclusion of resident assistant benefits, tuition waivers, or private scholarships
  • Changes to residency (a change from out-of-state to in-state, for example)
  • Changes in living situation/housing status (FAFSA indicates that you plan to live on-campus, but you decide to live at home or in an off-campus apartment, etc.)
  • Family circumstances
  • Missed deadlines
  • Completion of the FAFSA

If any of the above information changes, let the Financial Aid Office know immediately so we can update your Financial Aid offer. Should we not hear from you and discover any of this information to be incorrect, we will update your Financial Aid offer at that time. All changes to your Financial Aid offer can be found in real time through e-Web (Self-Service). Email & eWeb are official means of communication for the University, so please check them frequently.

You can accept and/or decline your Financial Aid offer through e-Web (Self-Service). Click here for instructions on how to accept or decline your offer.
