“Carrie: The Musical” will present at Eastern Connecticut State University from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3. The musical is the second main stage production of Eastern's fall theatre season.
Student Liv Skerry will direct the musical, which first premiered in the United Kingdom in 1988 and would quickly travel to Broadway later that year. It features an original score by Michael Gore and lyrics by Dean Pitchford. The musical’s book, based on the novel by Stephen King, was written by Lawrence D. Cohen.
“Carrie: The Musical” is the story of social pariah Carrie White, an awkward high school girl whose everyday life consists of being tormented by her schoolmates and then at home by her fanatically religious mother. Carrie will be presented in the Fine Arts Instructional Center's Delmonte Bernstein Studio Theater on Nov. 30 at 5:30 p.m.; Dec. 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m.; and Dec. 3 at 5 p.m.
