As Eastern Connecticut State University brings the fall 2020 semester to a close, many members of the community have reflected on the changes of the past nine months amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Among these individuals is Pat Miller, a former adjunct faculty member in the English and Women’s and Gender Studies programs. As Eastern closed campus for the spring 2020 semester, Miller began an art and photography project she titled, “While You Were Gone: Windows into a Strange New World.”
Along with Art Gallery Director Yulia Tikhonova, Miller invites students and staff to visit the exhibit, which is posted next to the art gallery on the interior and exterior of room 115 in the Fine Arts Instructional Center.
“I am very fond of Eastern,” says Miller, “and especially appreciative of its commitment to a strong relationship between the University and the community.”
The photographs, which consist of reflections on campus building windows, were taken to highlight the strange shift in “normal” that the entire world has experienced in the past year.
The exhibit will run until Dec. 3. If you are interested in this project or any of Miller’s previous works, visit https://pat-miller.pixels.com.
