First Year Advising & Registration

Welcome to the Class of 2028! We are so excited that you have chosen to be an Eastern Warrior! This page will walk you through the steps you should take in order to get registered for your first semester at Eastern. While the Advising Center staff will build your schedule for you, you will have lots of say in the process!

  • Commit to being a Warrior! Deposits must be submitted to reserve courses and residence hall space by June 1. To submit your deposit, refer to the instructions in your admissions portal. You can also contact the Admissions staff at (860) 465-5286 with any questions.

Students living on-campus: $450 non-refundable tuition and housing deposit
    Students living off-campus: $200 non-refundable tuition deposit

  • At Eastern, all students must complete a College level math course and a College writing course within their first year. In order to determine your placement in either course, you can:

    • Submit your SAT or ACT scores to Eastern. Even if you did not send your scores with your application, these scores may be used for placement purposes. Scores should be requested directly from the testing site (ex: CollegeBoard), and submitted to the Admissions Office. Submitting standardized tests scores after acceptance will not impact your admissions decision.
    • Take a math and/or writing placement exam. If you are required to take a math and/or writing placement, you will be notified via your Eastern email account. Don't forget to check your email regularly!
  • The First Year Preference Survey is open now through June 6, 2024. The survey will allow us to get to know you better in order to build you the best schedule possible.

The survey will cover things like:

    • Which First Year Seminar courses are you most interested in?
    • What is your preferred time of day for taking courses?
    • Would you rather have your courses scheduled back-to-back or with breaks in-between?
    • Are you transferring in Advanced Placement (AP) or Early College Experience (ECE) courses?
    • Are you interested in minors, double majors, or still figuring out the best academic path for you?
  • SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration) is an overnight orientation program in the
summer designed to introduce all new first-year students to life on campus. You’ll meet other new
students, student leaders, faculty and staff, become acclimated to campus and finalize your class
    schedule.

    In-Person Orientation Dates: June 17-18, June 20-21, June 24-25, or June 27-28

New first-year students must also complete our Orientation Online program by August 23.

To register for in-person SOAR and to access Orientation Online, visit
    www.easternct.edu/orientation.

  • All schedules will be ready on June 14, 2024. You will receive an email to your Eastern email account alerting you that your schedule is ready. This email will also include instructions for how to view your schedule in your eWeb account.

  • Have questions about your schedule? Need to make changes? No problem! You will have the chance to meet with an advisor during SOAR to review and finalize your fall schedule.
  • Make sure your final high school transcript as well as any Advanced Placement exam scores and transcripts for college-level courses are submitted to the Office of Admissions as soon as possible.
